goldilocks

by

Damian Trasler, David Lovesy and Steve Clark

Here in Pantoland our village is surrounded by beautiful woods.  The bears live in these woods - they are kind and gentle creatures, who protect the villagers from wolves.  But wait…. there’s a new Queen Bee in the area, and she has some very nasty plans!  Can Goldilocks, Auntie Septic and their friends save the world from the wicked plans of the evil Queen Bee??

the three bears

‘The Story of the Three Bears’ and an old woman who trespasses on their property was first published in 1837. 1894 saw ‘Scrapefoot’: a similar tale with a vixen taking the role of the old woman. But its place in the oral tradition goes back much further

The story experienced a number of changes with the three bears becoming a family and, not least, the elderly woman becoming a pretty young girl, whom we all know as Goldilocks.

The story has been a film, an opera, a ballet and a board game. Sometimes, recalling its origins, a horror story ; at others a cosy fireside tale. Surely one of the most popular of all fairy tales.
